National Associations

VIDO

The national association of former foodstuff processors in The Netherlands, which comprises 6 members. Its members process about 250,000 tonnes of former foodstuffs into animal feed.
BFAN

The German association of former foodstuff processors, currently holding 10 members. Currently processes approximately 800,000 tonnes of former foodstuffs into animal feed.
UKFFPA

The United Kingdom Former Foodstuffs Processors Association was founded in February 2014 and currently holds 13 members. In the UK over 650,000 tonnes of former foodstuffs are processed annually into animal feed.

A Spanish former foodstuffs processor. About 300,000 tonnes of former foodstuffs in Spain and 30,000 tonnes in Portugal are processed into animal feed.

A Belgian former foodstuff processor which processes approximately 125,000 tonnes of former foodstuffs into animal feed.
DALMA

An Italian former foodstuff processor. It is estimated approximately 200,000 tonnes of former foodstuffs are processed into animal feed in Italy.

Network

EFFPA is actively involved in the debate on food waste to present the solution animal feed can provide. It is a member of the EU Platform on Food Waste & Losses, which held its first meeting on 29 November 2016. EFFPA has contributed to EU-funded research platforms such as FUSIONS and REFRESH.

EFFPA is associate member to FEFAC, which also hosts the EFFPA Secretariat. Since June 2014 EFFPA holds the membership to the EU Feed Chain Task Force which is partly coordinated by FEFAC and holds the task of updating the EU Catalogue of Feed Materials.

Since June 2014 EFFPA holds membership to the EU Feed Chain Task Force which holds the task of updating the EU Catalogue of Feed Materials. Since August 2017, EFFPA holds Observer Status to the DG SANTE Advisory Group Food Chain and Animal and Plant Health.
